Help and Support for Cropthorne Residents – CORONAVIRUS

You may or may not be aware of a small charity in Cropthorne, Randolph Meakins Pattys Farm and Widdow Lyes Charity.

As a small village charity they award grants to residents / groups in Cropthorne following requests from the youngest to the most senior.

Annually they look to make funds available to purchase supermarket vouchers which are distributed to qualifying senior residents at Christmas, tokens for university students to purchase books to help with their studies, and provide gifts of flowers, fruit etc to those returning home after time in hospital. They have also made donations to the parish council for the purchase of benches and one of the two defibrillators we have in the village.

They have been in touch to say that they have made some funds available to purchase Tesco vouchers for any Cropthorne resident or family who may be experiencing financial hardship having lost their job or temporarily laid off as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak. It will not be a huge amount, but a very kind gesture which may help in a small way to enable anyone affected to purchase some basic and essential supplies.

If you, or anyone you know in Cropthorne has lost their job as a result of the Coronavirus, please could you direct them to the Parish Clerk, either by email to: cropthornepc@outlook.com or by telephone to 01386 552233. Any calls taken will be treated in the strictest confidence and their details will only be made known to the Charity who will distribute the vouchers.

There is also a lot of information made available on the Wychavon District Council website:www.wychavon.gov.uk/covid-19-update. This information is updated regularly.

There is a Facebook page, Cropthorne Community Group, for anyone that uses social media which is regularly updated and receives input from our County Councillor Liz Eyre.

I do have quite an extensive list of emails for residents in Cropthorne, but if you know of anyone that does not receive these and would like to, please can you ask them to contact me and I will add them to my list.

I would like to thank those that have helped with the distribution of leaflets, contacted me offering help to those self-isolating or unable to get out, and to those that have already taken time to visit their neighbours.
